There is a connectivity error with Paypal and the site Thank you from the management. I have a Remington Scoremaster and a Targetmaster. For the money, this is probably the best clip-fed bolt action 22lr rifle you will find. I paid well under bucks apiece for mine and both were made sometime in the mid-fifties and in great condition.
The is a very accurate rifle and will probably out-shoot most if not all modern "mid-range" 22 bolt actions from the big US makers. I can remember sitting in a deer blind in the off-season and picking off fox squirrels from yds with ease, using my with a cheapo 3x9x32mm Tasco scope.
Most were head shots. I can also easliy "dance" empty 12 gauge hulls my favorite target from the 50yd sandbags with this rifle with alarming regularity. Yeah, its that good! Sice buying the and Remingtons, I sold my bull-barreled and Marlin Model 60 - they're just not necessary anymore! I'd say Gun Parts Corp. They list the on their website as a model they carry parts for. I'd also try a biggie gunshow for extra mags. If you would like to try my set-up, Millett makes a great set of steel 22 rings and a Tasco 3x9x32mm scope runs about 30 bucks.
Have fun with it It seems funny that you can usually pick one up in a pawn shop for bucks or less. They should sell for much more, IMHO. My first gun was a Scoremaster but mine is bolt action, clip feed with a 25" barrel and very accurate. Has been re-blued and I re-did the stock on it. Looks newer than it is for sure. I think mine was a '56 or so model that I looked up through info at the rimfirecentral. Mine doesn't have a smooth bore. Bill edit: I went back to that web site and looked at my gun again and it looks like it has a B B on the barrel just above the stock on left side of frame.
This would indicate Jan. It was bought new and has short, long, longrifle on the top of barrel and shoots very well with any of those. Even though I didn't have a cleaning rod and would straighten out a clothshanger to push some little rag through the barrel every couple of years.
